Salmmah Women's Resource Centre

Salmmah was initiated by a group of leading Sudanese women in 1997 as a non profit civil society organization specially dedicated to support women’s organizations and women’s issues, with special devotion to the combat of violence against women and to the acquisition of human rights. Salmmah’s head office is in Khartoum, with a small coordination office for program in the South in Juba.

The Women Living Under Muslim Laws International Solidarity Network and the Violence is Not our Culture Campaign strongly condemn the revocation of the registration licence of it partner in Sudan, the Salmmah Resource Centre without prior notice and due process. 

Sudan: Stop Stoning of Intisar Sharif Abdallah

Women Living Under Muslim Laws (WLUML) and the Violence Is Not Our Culture (VNC) campaign call on Sudanese authorities to stop the execution of a woman condemned to stoning for alleged adultery. Intisar was accused of having a relationship and becoming pregnant by a man who was not her husband. She was found guilty after an “admission of guilt” following torture and brutal beatings by her brother who instigated the case. According to reports, Intisar did not have access to a lawyer during her trial, and her accused lover remains un-convicted and walks free. ونحن نحتفي بحملة ال16 يوماً لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة التي تجسد الارتباط الوثيق بين مناهضة العنف ضد المرأة وتعزيز وحماية حقوق الانسان باسم منظمات المجتمع المدني نحي النساء في العالم، التحية لكل النشطاء في الدفاع عن حقوق المرأة، التحية للمنظمات الدولية التي ظلت تقدم الدعم والمناصرة لبرامج حماية حقوق المرأة، ونخص بالتحية  المرأة  السودانية والرائدات  اللائي مهدن لنا الدروب، والنساء اللائي يملأن الساحات والبيوت بالعطاء الصبور ويشاركن في الدفع بالمجتمع للأمام
